I have to admit it - this summer I've been less than stellar about sitting down with my children to practice math facts, writing, and reading. I always say that I'll do it at the end of the day, but by then, my children are so worn out by swimming, riding their bikes, and playing outdoors, that I can hardly get them to wash the bug spray off before they crash in their beds. It's comical to think that they'll sit down and look at "school work."
Yesterday, when they were eating their daily scoop of ice-cream, I started thinking that not only have we been slack in school-work, but we haven't been eating as well as we should. Of course it's summer, so some of that is to be expected, but it occured to me that not only were they eating a bunch of junk they didn't need, but they were not getting one of the most important vitamins that their growing bodies did: omega-3.
During the school year, both my children took 2 PharmaOmega Learn capsules (omega-3 fish oil for school-aged children) every morning with breakfast. Since summer started, we have not followed that routine because of sleeping late and crazy schedules. However, when I think about the difference in my children's school-work (especially handwriting) once they started taking PharmaOmega Learn, I realized that taking a summer break from essential nutrition is not an option. Not only have I personally experienced the benefits of omega-3, but I have seen first-hand the positive changes it has made in my children.
I'm happy to say that this morning we were all back on track with taking our omega-3. Now we'll all be ready for school to start (especially me!)
